Movie lines and dogs

Tonight I was watching a movie and a line kind of struck me. It was that when you get hurt so badly that something just shuts off. It just made me think. Is there some truth that you can get hurt so badly that you are unable to love again with a hardened heart. If so, how does that person ever learn to love again. Or do they not learn to ever love and let anyone in. Then again there are those people who seem to get continually hurt throughout there life yet they are capable of loving with every ounce of them still. I wonder what differentiates between those two different kinds of people. I'm not sure why that line struck me but for some odd reason it did tonight.

Earlier today when I was taking Max for a walk we had a little run in with another dog who pinned Max by his ear. Thankfully the owner was right behind him and able to pin his dog who had to weigh at least 90 lbs compared to Max's 30lbs. There were no open wounds anywhere just a little fur missing. He was fine after about a minute. I hope we do not run into Hercules, that was the name of the dog, again like that. If the owner hadn't been there I would not have been able to get him off Max. It was scary. And I thought my dog has issues at times. I guess I have nothing to complain about after that.

Of other note, I have noticed that since I've been taking Max on more regular walks I have been getting to know more of my neighbors. They want to know what kind of dog he is or they are out with their dogs. It's nice to know that people are that friendly around here.

I can't wait to move and get away from a lot of things here and have a fresh start. I'm sure I'll be back to visit every now and then but I don't plan to keep in touch with that many people. I can think of two who have already committed to coming and visiting me so I'm sure I'll be returning the favor. :)
