I chose the name grey-cells I can't even remember how many years ago, but it's been a while. It comes from my favorite character in books, Hercule Poirot. The funny little Belgian character created by Agatha Christie. He is always using his grey cells to figure out the mystery. And hence came about grey-cells.net as I too strive to always use my grey cells in life.
I lost most of my old layouts when I started up on a new server so I don't have them here. I do have the most recent one from this site and will just have to start from there. I don't have a lot of versions due to my lack of attention at times to this site, but I am going to work on that better and try to change it when the time comes. I have chosen though to mostly keep this site a simple blog and photo album for people to check out. That means no really special webdesigning for anyone who's interested. So below are the versions and dates they ran from most recent to oldest.
seasons of change
December 2007 - present
I was tired of looking at the last layout. I tend to get bored easily. I really no had no inspiration for this layout other than I started messing around with some things and liked how it came out. I got the idea for the picture of the peace lily when I looked over at mine and thought it looked cool. As for the darker colors I was just wanting to change it up a bit from the muted colors from before. And the theme isn't really much other than it also just popped into my head.
simplicity
March 2007 - December 2007
This version was mainly due to the fact that I created a family website and liked the layout a lot more than mine and got tired of looking at mine. It's titled simplicity because it's a fairly simple layout with not a lot of colors. I chose four B&W photos that I had from a trip to the Northwest last year and fooled around to come out with this.
ice queen
March 2007
This version was inspired by the fact I got a new photo album creator and I chose all the black
layouts for a general color theme. Then we had an ice storm come through and I was able to get
some pretty cool pics of what it did to some of the plants around. Hence the idea for the ice queen
came through.
trust yourself
August 2005 - February 2007
This was the first new version that I left on for way too long. I had found a picture of
Amanda Peet that I had really liked and then a quote about trusting yourself and just got inspired and
this was what came out. The color scheme was just one to match the photo and it was a rough
layout as I was very very rusty on my html.
